known as Bheshaja, must be effective and potent. Department of Rasashastra &
Bhaishajya Kalpana, i.e. Ayurvediya Aushadhi Nirmana Shastra, also known as
the Department of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics, is where such medicines are
prepared.
The meticulous processes of Identification, Shodhan, Maranadi
samskaras on metals, minerals & herbs are done to obtain a good quality
formulation. Quality, Stability, Safety and Efficacy are achieved through
various procedures and processes. Posology, Route of administration, &
Anupana are the other significant topics covered. Integration of basic level
Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals,
Mineralogy & allied subjects is done, so that the metal, mineral, herbomineral
& herbal compounds & their mode of action can be explained in the modern
terms.
Students will get acquainted with the study of ancient instruments,
equipments and methods of medicine preparation along with the usage of
modern equipments & instruments essential to improve the techniques of
processing. Students need to be acquainted with various aspects of GMP, patent
laws, analytical techniques necessary for quality control & standardization
which is need of the hour. The main aim of this department is to cater
professional competency in Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics and make students
capable to select proper / effective yoga and administer it safely.
