DEPARTMENT OF SWASTHAVRITTA
Swasthavritta, an essential subject in the second year of the
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), focuses on the
principles and practices of preventive and social medicine in Ayurveda.
The department is dedicated to promoting the concept of “Swasthasya
Swasthya Rakshanam” – preserving the health of the healthy through
balanced lifestyle practices, seasonal regimens, and ethical conduct.
This department plays a crucial role in educating students about
personal hygiene, community health, yoga, and environmental health
from an Ayurvedic perspective. With a blend of classical knowledge and
modern public health principles, Swasthavritta forms the foundation for
understanding holistic wellness and preventive care in Ayurveda.
